ParliPulls 9/12/18

Welcome back ladies and gentlemen to a new week of Parlipulls.  This week has been hectic for me personally and I didn’t get to read as much as I wanted to, but I will be giving some input this week!  I look forward to publishing this piece every week and I wanted to thank John, Takoda, Shawn, RD, and Stephen for letting me take the reins on this section.  Without further ado here are the some of the staffs selected readings for this week!

First up we have Shawn and his selection!  This week, I would like to suggest another selection from Alterna Comics: Go West. A 3 issue series written by Garrett Gunn and beautifully rendered by artist Saint Yak, this vicious little tale of revenge really sparked my interest the whole way through. Slade The Blade, a retired assassin of sorts returns to his old ways when a local crime boss has his wife and child killed. Big mistake. Prepare for a whole lot of blood in this action packed story that’s part Mad Max and part The Punisher.

Next up and last I will give my input on a recent series I started to read.  This week I am going to suggest Low from Image Comics.  It is written by Rick Remender, the art is done by Greg Tocchini, and the colorist is Dave McCaig.  Low has been around since 2014 and has 19 issues in the collection.  It is set in the post apocalyptic future.  The first issue gives us a look at Stel and Johl Caine, and their three children.  Things take a turn for the worst when the family sets out on a mission to find other planets that support life.  The first book will keep you on the edge of your seat and wanting to read the rest of the series (my plan for the weekend!). My last note for this section is that the art work is AMAZING!  So go check it out!

As always we thank you for listening and reading!  We would love to hear your feedback on past comics that we have recommended.  We are also looking for more comics to review and support through the Parlipod and Parlipulls, so send those recommendations over!  Thanks for tuning in this week and have a fantastic week!

On a side note keep those impacted by Hurricane Florence in your thoughts!
